Message 13
I'm starting today by giving you the stops we'll make as we travel "The Road to Real Faith."
1). CRISIS FAITH
Your crisis faith may actually be more of a "Crisis Hope," as in "I hope God does this for me." Your crisis hope may initially bring you to Jesus, and that's perfectly fine. God will often use your crisis hope to shake you out of what you have been trusting in and to draw you to real faith in him.
2). TESTED FAITH
Jesus will often test your faith, not for his benefit but for your benefit. To bring you deeper than just a crisis hope in him, testing your faith is meant to bring you to the next level of faith because our faith grows and matures when it is tested. A tested faith almost always leads to a crisis of belief where you must respond to the testing of your faith. The way you respond to the Lord's testing of your faith determines where you go from there.
3). OBEDIENT FAITH
When your faith is tested, if you choose to act on your faith, then you will experience obedient faith. When you choose to see because you believe, when you know Jesus has spoken to you about your crisis, and you act on it, that is obedient faith. And so, obedient faith is what changes your course and changes your life.
4). CONFIRMED FAITH
As you choose to walk in obedient faith, at some point, you will know that your faith is real, and you will experience confirmed faith because God will confirm it. It may be an outward confirmation, such as a supernatural change in your crisis, but your confirmed faith may also be internal. The confirmatin of your faith may be the peace of God that passes understanding. It may be the solid conviction that God is with you and that he will walk you through this crisis for your ultimate good and for his ultimate glory.
5). CONTAGIOUS FAITH
Your tested, obedient, confirmed faith creates in you a contagious faith. It's a faith that draws others to the One you have put your faith in. The reason your faith becomes contagious is because it is a faith that has been tested, obeyed, and confirmed.
