Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Word By Mail based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
God
There is one true and living God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy, and He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Revelation
God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God. Also through the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, which are fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule of faith and practice.
Mankind
Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creation on earth.
The Fall
When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, sin entered mankind. From that time mankind ceased to be what we were made to be. From that time all people have been sinners by nature and choice and, therefore, are under condemnation and separated from God.
Salvation
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Jesus Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. God regenerates by the Holy Spirit those who repent of their sins and put their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit indwells every true believer. Jesus Christ baptizes the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit for power and service, either simultaneously or subsequently to regeneration.
The Church
The Church is made up of all true believers. Jesus Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members. The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Ressurection
Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth and into eternity.
