Clothe Yourself With
Colossians 3:12-15

Take a minute. Grab a Bible and a journal If you can. This 3-minute video is designed to kick-start your time with God.

First, PRAY to prepare your heart to hear from God. Then, watch the video and pray with me as I pray. Maybe watch it twice. Then, open your Bible to these verses and LISTEN for God to speak to you through His Word and by His Spirit. Write some thoughts to fine-tune your LISTENING. Then, write down what you HEAR God saying personally to you (what is the Holy Spirit impressing on you). Finally, write how you will RESPOND to what God has impressed on you during your time with him today. Then PRAY again to finish your time with God.

Colossians 3:12-15 (NLT):
12 “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.”
13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.
15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

Lord Jesus, would you help us, Lord? Would you fill us with your life and with the power of your Spirit, Lord, to recognize that we have been called out by you? We are the called-out ones. Lord, we have been made holy, set apart for your use. And so, Lord, we choose to clothe ourselves with tenderhearted mercy, with kindness, with true humility, with your gentleness, Lord, and with your patience, your long-suffering. Lord, may we make allowance for each other’s faults, and may you remind us and convict and enable and empower us to make allowance for each other’s faults and to forgive anyone who offends us.

And Lord, may we always remember that you first forgave us. And so, in response to that incredible forgiveness, that you call us to, Lord, you tell us we must forgive others. And above all, Lord, may we be clothed with love, with your love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony and perfect unity. And may we allow the peace that comes from you, Jesus, the peace that passes understanding, the peace that you give, not like the world’s peace, but the peace you give us. May we allow that peace to rule, to make decisions, in our hearts. And Lord, may we remember that as members of one body, we are called to live in peace, in the absence of conflict, in peace with one another. And Lord, may we always, always be thankful. In all things, in all ways, may we be thankful. In your incredible, mighty, and precious name, Jesus, Amen.
