Safe From The Enemy
2 Thessalonians 3:3

Week 9/Day 2

Hi, y’all, my name is Daisy, and I am back with another devotional. So, come join me. Grab your Bibles, your pens, and a designated journal. If you have our Alone With God journal, please follow along with that one. We made it especially for these devotionals. And if you do not have your Alone With God journal but you want one, please let us know so that we make sure that you get one. Our Alone With God journal is really the perfect way to practice spending alone time in the scripture, getting to know God, and transforming your life through the Word of God. We would love to make sure that you have one.

Today, we are going to be meditating on 2 Thessalonians 3, verse 3. I will read the verse a couple of times, and then you will pause and meditate on it on your own and think about what God is trying to say and why this is important, and any other thoughts that you have.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NIV)
3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

Go ahead and pause, and meditate on this verse on your own. In your Meditate section of your journal page, write what God is saying in this verse, and let the words really sink in.

When Jesus was crucified, and he rose again, he proved that death could be conquered. On the third day, when the stone was removed from the tomb – when it was rolled away – that was the declaration that no situation is hopeless in the eyes of God, no matter what the enemy does to kill, steal or destroy. God is not surprised. God isn’t afraid, and God is not thwarted. He is always guarding us. He’s always aware for us and establishing our steps accordingly.

So, how can you apply this scripture to your life? In the Apply section of your journal page, write down your own thoughts about what stands out to you about this verse. Have you seen God’s faithfulness in your life? In what areas of your life has God given you strength and spared you from the enemy?

Okay, now, we are going to take a moment and respond to God with our actions. So, knowing that God is always protecting you and that he is not intimidated by your circumstances, how can you adopt his perspective in your life? How can you live your life in a more fearless, unintimidated way? In the Respond section, write down your thoughts and your response to God.

Okay. So, I am going to close us out in some prayer. I will close us out, and then you can take the last few minutes and write a prayer of your own in the Pray section of your journal. Ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to make this scripture real in your life.

So, let’s pray together.

God, please make us less afraid of the enemy and more in awe of you. Exchange our doubt and our insecurities, and our anxieties for peace, and confidence, and trust. Deliver us from evil and refresh our faith with your love and constant support. Thank you for loving us, and thank you for keeping us safe. In Jesus’ name, amen.
