Encountering The Father
Psalm 5:3

Week 9/Day 5

Hi everyone. It’s Tricia, along with Daisy. And I hope you have one of our Alone With God journals. If you do, open it to your “Encountering The Father” for this week. And if you don’t have an Alone With God journal, be sure to get one at wordbymail.com.

So today, we are looking at the “Encountering The Father” page in your journal. And guys, the entire purpose of this journal is to help us encounter God, right? So, looking at the page, the first thing that’s in here is, What did God reveal to me in our alone time together this week? And I wrote continual surrendering is necessary to a healthy relationship with him. Layer after layer is revealed when I study his Word.

And then, for What scriptures is he highlighting? I wrote Proverbs 23:26. I wrote it out. 26 O my son, give me your heart. May your eyes take delight in following my ways. And then, I noted James Chapter 4 and Galatians 2:20. I just put the scripture reference there because I was studying there, and they impacted me this week.

And then, in the How is he changing me? area, I wrote I am doing a lot better at listening and obeying. I am learning to surrender my self-will to him on a daily basis, sometimes moment by moment. And, listen and respond with grace – grace for the other person and grace for me.

That’s the idea of what you would write on your “Encountering The Father” journal page. Obviously, yours is going to be much different than mine. So I encourage you to go ahead, take some time right now, and write in all three sections of this space in your journal, and then come on back for a prayer from Daisy.

Alright, here’s Daisy with a prayer to close us out.

Let’s pray for a breakthrough.

Psalm 5:3 (NIV)
3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.

Lord, this morning I lay my requests before you. I wait in expectation for how you are going to show up in my life. You are my shepherd. I lack nothing. So, I lay my cares, my worries, and my concerns, the things that burden me; I lay them at your feet, and I trust that you will help me in my time of need. In Jesus’ name, amen.
