Full Bellies, Fuller Hearts
Matthew 14:20-21 (CEB) 20 Everyone ate until they were full, and they filled twelve baskets with the leftovers. 21 About five thousand men plus women and children had eaten.
One of my favorite bible stories is the story of how Jesus miraculously multiplied the loaves and fish. It is proof that God can take what we have to offer to our community (no matter how small) and do more than we even imagined was possible with it. When we love others, God blesses us and blesses those we love. The story of the loaves and fish is the story of God’s abundance in action. God calls us to love our neighbors and extend generosity towards them for His glory so that He can show up in powerful and unforgettable ways.

Prayer: Gracious God, thank you for your outpouring of blessings and love. You are a miracle maker! Help me to respond to what I’ve received from you. Help me to extend your grace and compassion to others that you place on my path. Help me to show your love to others in need as you demonstrate the power of your grace and righteousness. In Jesus’ name, amen.
