Interviewing God

Hey, y’all, it’s Daisy. Today, I want to take you through the “Encountering The Father” section of our Alone With God journal. And if you don’t have our Alone With God journal, you can get one at wordbymail.com.

Today’s devotional is titled “Interviewing God.”

So, lately in my alone time, I have been exploring the idea of interviewing God to know him on a deeper level. Here are some questions that I have been asking him lately that I would love to see you ask him in your own alone time with him as you do the “Encountering The Father” section.

1). How do you see me?
2). What are you doing in my life right now?
3). What do you say about the pain of my past?
4). What do you want me to know about my future?
5). How can I serve you better?
6). What areas of my life need more of your presence?
7). What Bible verse do you have for me right now?

I really encourage everyone to get the Alone With God journal. Not because I just want everyone to have it, but really because this is part of me sharing my testimony. I want to scream it from the mountaintops because consistent time in God’s Word and prayer are so essential to our spiritual health in the same way that food and water are necessary for our physical well-being. And I really think that the enemy works so hard to derail our daily devotionals through busyness, and distraction, and discouragement. But when we make it a priority to start our day with encouragement from scripture, and to check in with God throughout the day and really make him the biggest part of our lives, and to go to him for advice, and to connect with him deeply, even if you can only spend a few minutes with him on your lunch break or before you go to sleep, it is so transformational. I’ve said this so many times, but I really struggle putting it into words because it’s not something you explain. It’s something you experience.

So, I encourage you to ask God to reveal himself to you and to speak into your life in a really personal way. And if you feel moved to get this journal, I really encourage it. I really encourage you to get this journal because it helps you to learn to listen for his voice, and notice patterns in your life, and notice your prayers being answered. There are so many prayers I can look back on and say, “Woah! I prayed for this! And it is physically here now.” And it just feeds my joy and my excitement and my love for life. It has brought me out of a lot of depression, and has really helped me learn how to work with my anxiety and overcome it.

This journal gives you a chance to bring your cares, and questions, and your praise before God so consistently. And I encourage you to ask him to search your heart and to align you to his will. And to invite the Holy Spirit into every aspect of your day because drawing near to God every morning anchors our minds, strengthens our faith, and prepares our hearts to follow him obediently.

Once again, if you have not gotten your Alone With God journal, please go to wordbymail.com. It’s going to change your life. And once you do get the journal, I would love to hear about how it’s transformed your relationship with God. Because I never get tired of sharing how it’s transformed mine.

I love you guys. Thank you for listening. And I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful rest of your week.
