Who is Jesus to You?
Hey, y’all, it’s Daisy. I’m just checking in. I wanted to share something I wrote with you this week in my Alone With God journal. I also just want to say that (I know I say this all the time) this journal really is actively transforming my life. And it’s really refreshing my idea of who God is and what God is capable of. I’m just so excited about how much I’ve grown over this last year just from doing this consistently. It’s really strengthening my mind, and I catch myself in the smallest moments just being able to flip my thoughts more easily and to put my focus on higher things. That is something that used to be really difficult for me. So, it’s just so cool to see myself in real-life situations actively applying what I’m studying and what I’m trying to adapt as part of myself.
It’s really cool, and I really appreciate you listening to my devotionals. It’s a little bit intimidating because these are my most vulnerable thoughts, and I don’t share everything, but I want to share enough so that y’all feel less alone in doing this. Thank you for being here and for listening.
If you don’t have the Alone With God journal, what are you doing? (Just kidding.) But you should get one. It’s the thing that I carry around with me the most. I don’t leave the house without it. Even at the diner the other day, I was doing it the other morning, and someone came up and said, “What kind of journal is that?” I was like, “Oh my gosh! It’s my Alone With God journal! Let me tell you about it.” It’s my pride and joy, and I love it so much. So, if you want one, please get one at wordbymail.com. So, let’s dive right in.
Revelation 7:9 (NIV)
9 . . . I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. . . .
My question to you this week is, “Who is Jesus to you?” Not by biblical definition. I mean, who is Jesus to you on a personal level? And rather than following along with my devotional today, I want to share an idea that I think will really help you in your relationship with him.
I wrote a letter to Jesus. And I really sat down, and I imagined sending him this letter of admiration and full transparency in the same way that I might tell a friend how they have impacted my life or what I love about them. So, what does your life look like because of Jesus? In what areas do you want Jesus to take up more space? Just spend some time and share your heart with him, and let him know that he has transformed your life.
This is really helpful because it just made me feel so much closer to him, and it made me feel like I was in active worship for about forty-five minutes, just pouring my heart out into this letter. It was a nice break from doing the traditional devotionals. It just gave me this space to really reflect and look at how good God has been to me and really examine all aspects of my life through this lens of true unconditional love. So, I encourage you to do that today.
That’s all I have to share with you. But I thought it was a really good idea, and I hope that it is something that transforms your life today as well.
I love you, and I hope you have a wonderful week.
