God Knows God Cares
Matthew 6:8
Today we’re going to read through four verses and then we will pray through these verses, then I will ask you to spend one minute with God praying about what the Holy Spirit impresses on your heart during the devotion. I encourage you to pause, meditate, and make notes in a journal or notebook or your Bible as we go through these verses.
Psalm 8:1, 3-4 (NLT)
1 O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens.

3 When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you set in place—
4 what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?
Matthew 6:8 (NLT)
8 … for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!
Psalm 40:5 (NLT)
5 O Lord my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them.
Psalm 115:12-13 (NLT)
12 The Lord remembers us and will bless us…
13 He will bless those who fear the Lord, both great and lowly.
Let’s pray through these verses.
Oh, Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You are the glorious one, your glory is higher than the heavens. When we look at the work of your hands, we are in awe that you would even think about us. What are we, compared to all that you have created? Yet, you made us in your image. Lord, you crowned us with glory, and honor among your creation. And you gave us dominion over the earth. But, Lord, sometimes we think maybe because you’re so majestic that you are far out there somewhere. And maybe you’re too big to know or to care.
But, Lord, you are also our Abba Father, our daddy. And you know what we need even before we ask. And Lord, you always care. And not only do you know and care, but you have done so many great things for us that we aren’t even aware of, that we can’t be aware of. Just as a good earthly father does for his children, you have always been at work in our lives because you, Lord, have always known that we would be yours.
And Lord, we say we don’t know what tomorrow holds, but we know that you hold tomorrow. And your good plans for us are too numerous to list. We could never grasp all you’ve done for us or all your thoughts toward us. Your thoughts and your plans for us never end, Lord, and if we ever tried to list all that you’ve done for us, we could never even begin to scratch the surface.
Lord, you have not forgotten us. And you never will. You know, and you care, and you will bless those who fear you no matter our situation or station in life. Our blessings come not in the circumstance of this life, but in knowing and walking with you, Lord. Through every season, and in every situation, thank you, Father. Thank you, Father, for knowing and caring. In the mighty and loving name of Jesus, amen.
Would you take a minute to respond to God in light of these verses and the prayer, would you just make it your own now? Respond to God with what the Holy Spirit has impressed on your heart.
